Mairead Faughnan (Midwife)
Mairead Faughnan RGN, RM, Dip HE, BSc Hons.
I am a Registered Nurse and Midwife with over 20 years’ experience in the National Health Service (NHS). My career experience and interests are in high risk pregnancy and management.
On completion of my midwifery training in 1998 I worked as a junior midwife and gradually climbed the ranks to senior midwife. During my career I worked on high risk labour wards which has led to my career choices by following the pathway in caring for women with high risk pregnancies.
In 2010 I joined a successful maternal medicine team at St Georges Hospital in London, which led to a secondment within Haematology. This role extended to assisting in developing a nurse-led anticoagulation clinic for pregnant women which provided evidence based advice on blood disorders in pregnancy and their treatment.
In 2013 I had the opportunity to work in a transformational team as a project manager working within Neurosciences and Surgery. I developed lifelong skills in terms of data management, audit and analysis of results which have been invaluable to my role as the Lead Midwife for inpatient services at Epsom Hospital until I joined Mr Shehata and his team at the clinic in August 2016.
Mr Shehata and I worked together at Epsom Hospital and I was thrilled when I was offered the appointment as Practice Manager/Midwife earlier this year. As his support I will ensure that the highest level of service is provided and would encourage all users of the service to provide feedback good or bad! to assist us in ensuring you have a positive experience at every visit.
In my other job as a mother to my beautiful girl, Belle, I am busy taking her shopping and generally caring for my family.
Please do not hesitate in contacting us at the CRP clinic and hope that the information gives you some guidance as to how to proceed if you trying for a baby.
