Dr Haider Jan
Dr Haider Jan is a Consultant Gynaecologist who specialises in providing evidence based, cutting edge, and innovative minimally invasive approaches to help women with gynaecological conditions.
Conditions treated include, but are not exclusive to, treatments for pelvic pain and Endometriosis, adhesions, fibroids and fertility surgery, heavy and abnormal bleeding, prolapse, menopause and HRT, and women with severe premenstrual tension.
His special interest is in minimally invasive surgery and Gynaecological Ultrasound (including 3D/4D) with accreditation from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in both fields. His NHS practice is based primarily at Epsom General Hospital where he is leading the development of minimally invasive services.

Dr Jan has received several national and international prizes for scientific presentations in both minimally invasive (Laparoscopic) gynaecology and gynaecological ultrasound. As well as being an award winning researcher in medicine, he has delivered more than 50 presentations at national and international conferences, more than 30 abstract publications and 14 papers in scientific peer-reviewed journals, including randomised controlled trials and one book chapter.
He is an instructor and examiner for the MSc in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy at University of Surrey. He similarly instructs on the University of Surrey ‘Caring for women with endometriosis’ module for clinical nurse specialists who are trained to support women on the specialised commissioning (complex gynaecology) pathway for severe endometriosis.
Moreover, he regularly speaks at patient support groups facilitating discussions and giving practical advice helping women develop a clearer understanding of their condition.
He is an accredited teacher and instructor on many nationally and internationally recognised courses for training in Gynaecological Surgery and Emergency Obstetrics for numerous faculties including the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS), the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), the Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG), and the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit (MATTU).
As an executive editor for the Global Library of Women’s Medicine, he has devoted much of his time in projects in low resource settings to increase the standard of care given to women, helping to improve survival during childbirth.
Finally, Dr Jan works closely with a number of fertility units because of his specific expertise in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions that may lead to recurrent miscarriages and poor fertility outcomes. These include hysteroscopy, fibroid removal, intrauterine septum and uterine abnormality corrections and surgery for the fallopian tube. Lastly, as an international award winning pioneer in the excision of Endometriosis, he offers a holistic and rounded approach to help the many women suffering with the condition.
